Brand loyalty is a bad thing. You buy into the brand, you don’t examine it as much, you give it a break on the critical thinking. It gets less thought than other things, because it’s easier to think about less things. It’s not just about being informed, it’s about being interested. Interest costs time and energy. Disinterest just costs intellect and understanding. One should be useful with their selfishness. There’s nothing wrong with productive selfishness. I mean, of course it’s problematic, but it doesn’t have to be problematic. It can still be useful.
