I just moved all my work files on the new project to a single folder and made a couple documents with further notes. It’s quarantined off, archived but not indexed. All I had intended when I started the project was a proof of concept—what would it feel like to write it. It wasn’t a particularly great experience at the start but it got much, much better. But taking it seriously meant putting a lot of time and effort into it right now and right now I don’t have those things to spare. I may have a “professional” writing degree, but I’m not a professional writer. The kinds of energy it would’ve required would’ve required some actual pay.
